Music Matters

Music Matters strives to collaborate with those in the music industry who are called to support indigenous initiatives and culture. We work to provide the necessary support for indigenous communities to preserve their culture and traditions, while also using music and the arts as a tool to educate and raise awareness about environmental issues. Our core objectives are (1) Cultural preservation and exchange and (2) land and food sovereignty for Indigenous peoples. We understand the role that indigenous communities play in the preservation of nature and our human relationship to it. By safeguarding their language, music, art and culture, they preserve ancient ways in which humans and nature interact and maintain a strong sense of identity and connection to their history. Building relationships with indigenous communities offers opportunities for mutual learning, collaboration, and shared responsibility in addressing environmental and social challenges facing our interconnected world.
