              • If you’re looking for a bespoke experience, this one has to top them all. That’s because you’ll go on a day trip to Antarctica. Yes, a day trip to one of the most exclusive places on Earth. We’re sure it will be the best day of your life! This experience will take place on January 12, 2025.

                Experience Details: 

                • Departure from Cape Town on January 12, 2025: 
                  • The journey to the continent is aboard a "heavy" such as an Airbus A340 or a private jet. Traveling in Business Class, you will join a select group of like-minded explorers journeying across the mighty Southern Ocean.
                  • During the 5.5-hour flight, you will cross the Polar Circle and soar over thousands of icebergs and pass into 24 hours of continuous sunshine.
                  • Destination: Wolf's Fang Runway
                • Wolf's Fang Runway:
                  • Wolf's Fang Runway is one of the only privately managed blue ice runways in the world. The 3K stretch stands in the shadow of one of the continent's most iconic mountains - named Ulventanna or "Wolf's Fang" by the early Norwegian explorers. It stands like a primeval sentinel surrounded by staggering spires of rock that pierce the icebound landscape.
                  • On arrival, that first glacial breathe charges through your body at lightning speed. Under foot the ice crackles - sound heightened by the overwhelming sense of stillness. In every direction the timeless landscape envelops you and the magnitude of where you are becomes a visceral reality,
                • Your time on the ice:
                  • After your arrival (and depending on the weather on ice) you will spend approximately 3 hours on the continent.
                  • You will experience a couple of unique activities:
                  • Qualified mountain guides will lead you into an ice cave nearby and take you on a gentle hike to a mountain where you will experience a champagne picnic with views of the Wolf Fang's range. For the more daring, you can abseil down the side before crossing the glacial ice back to the Snow Lounge for a final drink before you board your return flight back to Cape Town.

                • Return flights to Antarctica (including 7kg for hand luggage)
                • All food and drinks (including all alcohol) in Antarctica
                • All guiding fees, support of field guides and logistics staff
                • The use of certain items of polar clothing, as detonated on equipment list
                • Payment of a "Carbon Tax" for offsetting emissions created by all logistics associated with Antarctic travel

                • Not included:
                  • Commercial flights to and from Cape Town, South Africa.
                  • Accommodations and meals while in Cape Town.
                  • Polar clothing (you will be sent a tailored kit list in advance of your trip to help you purchase the necessary items,
                  • Comprehensive insurance cover (you will be advised on the appropriate cover required).
                  • Any additional expenses in Cape Town.
                  • Additional baggage costs over the agreed amount.
                  • Use of a satellite phone while in Antarctica.
                • Experience cannot be resold or re-auctioned.
                • Cannot be transferred.
                • Blackout dates may apply.
                • Travel and accommodations are not included.
                • We expect all winning bidders and their guests to conduct themselves appropriately when attending an experience won at Charitybuzz. Decorum and adherence to all rules and guidelines are a must.
                • To be scheduled at a mutually agreed upon date, based on the experience provider's availability.
                • All Charitybuzz patrons are required to comply with current government, venue, and event requirements associated with the redemption of this lot. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the experience and final purchase price.
                • Should redemption of all or a portion of this lot be prevented or postponed beyond the dates of redemption explicitly stated on this lot page due to force majeure (i.e. weather, act of God, state of war, terrorism, strike, pandemic, etc.) or any other condition beyond reasonable control, the winner may be eligible for a refund of the total purchase price.
