Own an original self-portrait by Kimberly Klauss, "MidLifeAtHighNoon," painted in 2020 in a palette of fluorescent and earth-toned oils. The work captures the artist's long-running inquiry into how well we can ever know ourselves or others, rendered at 40 by 30 inches and signed on the rear.
Kimberly Klauss is a painter and printmaker based in Bridgeport, Connecticut, whose childhood in Japan and adult years in Germany shaped a practice centered on identity and the experience of being a foreigner. She gained wider attention in 2017 as a finalist on the televised competition Portrait Artist of the Year, and her paintings are held in the Soho House and Ruth Borchard Next Generation Collections. In late 2023, she was named the inaugural artist-in-residence at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut, a nine-month residency that culminated in a solo exhibition of her work.
